COMPONENTS OF CARE

What makes us different

Unhurried visits

Appointments are an hour or longer, allowing space to slow down, ask questions, and build trust and connection throughout pregnancy and postpartum.

Continuity of care

You’ll be supported by the same midwife throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum so you can feel known, understood, and consistently supported.

Informed consent & collaboration

Every aspect of care centers your voice, your choices, and shared decision-making, with clear information and respect for your autonomy.

Flexible care: in-home & Telehealth

Care is offered through a combination of in-home visits and Telehealth, making support accessible, consistent, and responsive to your needs.

24-hour

On-call availability & direct access

You’ll have ongoing access for questions and support, with your midwife on-call as you approach your birth.

Intuition & clinical skill

Care is supported by hands-on experience, clinical training, and the tools needed to respond safely and appropriately, while honoring the natural process of birth.

About your midwife

I’m passionate about helping people find their voice in systems that don’t always make space for autonomy, informed consent, and true collaboration. Above all, I strive to offer care that feels emotionally safe, collaborative, and rooted in trust.

I’ve supported over 200 births across homes, birth centers, and hospitals with an emphasis on physiologic birth and informed, individualized care.

Equity & values

You deserve to be cared for with respect, competence, and dignity. My approach is rooted in shared decision-making, evidence-based care, and a deep respect for physiologic birth and bodily autonomy.

This work is grounded in culturally responsive, trauma-informed care and an ongoing commitment to humility, equity, and respectful support for all families.

Each prenatal and postpartum visit was very thorough. I was able to ask questions and engage in thoughtful discussions about my choices so that I could make the most thoughtful decisions for myself, my baby, and our family.

– Leah N.

Who this care is for

This approach may not resonate with those seeking a more conventional, hospital-centered model of care. However, monitrice support for planned hospital births is available in select cases.

Common questions

Most healthy, low-risk pregnancies can be safely supported at home. Part of midwifery care includes ongoing assessment throughout pregnancy to ensure home birth remains an appropriate and safe option for you and your baby.

You’re welcome to reach out at any point in pregnancy, whether you’re newly exploring your options, seeking support later in pregnancy, or considering a transfer of care. Earlier connection allows more time to build relationship and continuity, but we’re happy to explore what support may still be available.

Your safety and well-being are always the priority. If a higher level of care becomes needed during pregnancy, labor, or postpartum, we collaborate with or transfer to hospital-based care when appropriate.

Midwifery care includes prenatal, birth, postpartum, and newborn support rooted in individualized, relationship-centered care. Visits are typically longer than standard OB appointments and include both clinical monitoring and space for education, questions, emotional support, and shared decision-making throughout the process.

While care is primarily cash pay, many families with PPO plans are eligible for reimbursement. We also offer Verification of Benefits (VOB) support and payment plans when needed.

Yes. We offer consultation, prenatal, postpartum, and support services for families planning hospital births who still want continuity, education, and relationally-centered care.
